Orange chicken with protein quinoa. Fitness and gym lovers are more interested in recipes that contain a healthy dose of protein. Orange chicken is a classic of Asian food, which together with quinoa and vegetables becomes a very healthy and nutritious food. We reveal today an easy recipe to make, in a very short time and perfect to take you in a lunch box to work.
It seems mythical that scene of the tuppers with rice and chicken in the dressing rooms of gyms, but you can really get interesting and less monotonous dishes with the same ingredients. In this case, instead of rice, we bet on quinoa. This pseudocereal is one of the largest amounts of vegetable protein, 13 grams of protein per 100 grams of quinoa. Also, as you know, most cereals and vegetables do not provide complete proteins; that is, they have a lower composition in certain amino acids. Luckily, in the case of quinoa, this does not happen.
On the other hand, we have the chicken breast, which is a lean meat that provides more protein (22’2 gr / 100 gr) and very little fat (6’2 gr / 100 gr).
-2 chicken breasts
-1 clove garlic
-150 grams of cooked quinoa
WE SQUEEZE THE ORANGES
With the help of a juicer, we extract the juice of two oranges. Please, do not use bottled juice.
In a griddle or pan, pour some extra virgin olive oil to cook the chicken. Chop the breasts and toss them in the pan until they are golden brown.
We also add zucchini, garlic, and onion; although you can use the vegetables that you like the most.
ADD THE QUINOA
To our chicken with vegetables in the pan, we add the previously cooked quinoa. We stir well so that it is integrated with the rest of the ingredients.
You can use the spices that you like to give a different touch to the dish. You will see that we have not seasoned, but it really will not be necessary.
Black pepper, oregano, rosemary or a little curry may look good in this recipe.
ENTER THE JUICE
Once we have the mixture well homogeneous, pour the juice of the two oranges and remove again.
